Fernway Outdoors Club - Fall ‘22 Season - Part 2

The Fall season of our after school club at North Bend Elementary Middle School pressed on through mid-December!

In the second half of this season,we spent as much time outside as the weather allowed. When the weather was too cold, we enjoyed an excercise in nature journaling, and found inspiration in a documentary about the Appalachian Trail.

Our biggest adventure of this season was an 8 mile hike aroung Catoctin Mointain Park on Black Friday. Six of our students were brave enough to face the cold and the miles. They completed the epic trip with great attitudes. We were really proud of them!

In December, we celebrated the end of our season with burgers on the grill, and smores over the fire. Students who participated in the club received Fernway Outdoors t-shirts, and those with the highest participation received bonus gifts! Fall ‘22 proved to be a great season.
