About us
Fernway Outdoors gets her name from the German word “fernweh” meaning “farsickness” or a “longing for far-off places,” especially those you’ve not yet visited. Sometimes those far-off places are out in nature. Sometimes they are within ourselves. Sometimes it’s something else altogether. We believe spending more time together in the outdoors helps us find it. And we believe it helps us grow into better people; better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Operating out of Baltimore, MD, Fernway Outdoors has been helping young people find what they are longing for through outdoor adventures since 2018.

Our vision is for young people to grow in confidence, character, and wholistic well-being leading to a greater positive impact on their communities.
Our Mission is to cultivate supportive and inspiring communities of young people through life-changing outdoor adventures and programs. We do this by encouraging young people to grow through facing challenging new environments, applying new skills, and experiencing the joys of the outdoors.
